There is an ancient word that has captivated us: perichoresis-often described as the divine dance between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It gives language to a continual rhythm of making room, receiving, responding, and moving toward one another again.
As we began awakening to the reality that we weren't standing outside of this Dance trying to find our way in, it began changing the way we saw marriage too.
What if marriage isn't another place to perform for love, but a place to participate in the Love we've already been given?
What if we could take off the masks we've learned to wear? Ask with curiosity. Answer with honesty. Make room for what is revealed. Become more fully seen and fully known—and continue choosing to move toward one another.
The Union Initiative was created from that question.
